New running shoe question?

Just got a pair of NB All Terrain 810's. When do I need new running shoes? I've heard when I was in the Army every three months, but I'm also keeping track of miles so anyone know how many miles before I buy a new pair? Oh I bought insoles to lengthen thier life also.

New running shoe question?
I agree with 300-500 miles.

If you are a serious runner and run regularly, I would not take a chance and would change shoes every 300 miles or every 3 months, whichever comes early.

Improper shoewear is the most common reason for foot pain and a contributing factor in several running injuries. A shoe may appear fine outside, but if the sole and the padding were gone - from the shock of the pounding, then you will be wearing a piece of junk that might end up causing problem with your muscles, ligaments/tendons, resulting in such injuries like Plantar Fasciitis, Calcaneal Spurs, ankle sprain, etc. Insoles only will help to some degree but does not prolong the lifespan of a shoe.

Don't try to save money on shoes. Change them regularly.
Reply:Depending how hard you run, but between 300 and 500 miles, or every SIX months, whichever is sooner. (The six months assumes you DO run in the shoes and not just sitting in the closet.)
Reply:You won't lengthen the life of the shoes but putting insoles in them, but it was a good idea to buy separate insoles for the shoes. Yes, 500 miles max. until you change them is good. I typically do it a little after 400 unless I'm feeling pain that I think is caused by old shoes. You can reuse those insoles probably in your next few pairs of shoes, though. It is wise to not skimp on running shoes.

Also, you can kinda tell if a shoe is breaking down when you begin to see tiny creases in the rubber at the bottom. And not the bottom of the shoe, the white rubber on the sides.
Reply:i just use them until they fall apart.
