How can I get relief from heel pain?

I have been experiencing heel pain in both my feet for the past 6 weeks. I used to run regularly, but since the pain started I switched to bike riding to lessen the pounding on my feet, but I still have pain. I've also tried different footwear and insoles without much success. When I wake up in the morning my feet and ankles feel sore and tight, particularly in the achilles tendon area. Any ideas?

check out plantar faciatis (sp?)
Reply:correct on the plantar "fasciitis" He needs to stretch the Achilles tendon by bringing the toes up toward the front of the leg, on a regular basis, and before he gets out of bed in the morning. that will help. I have the same condition. my Dr. said it was due to over exercising Report It

Reply:You may have heel spurs, but only a doctor's visit can confirm that. I also suffer from heel pain in one foot in particular. Some days are better than others. The only shoes that I have found that I can wear and no have pain in my heel are Birkenstocks. I've worn them now for seven years. I literally do not own a pair of shoes that are not Birkenstocks. As long as I have them on my feet, I'm fine. I take them off, and after five minutes of walking around my house my heel hurts.

I buy mine online from a guy who sells on both Ebay and has his own internet store. He will also allow you to combine orders from Ebay and his online store. I buy at least three pair at a time to save on shipping. Even witht the cost of shipping, they are still cheaper than buying in a store in the US, but you will need to know your exact size before order. I bought my first pair at a mall oustide of Chicago, and paid twice what it would have cost me to order from him. However, buying that first pair allowed me to know what size I needed to order for future purchases.

His Ebay ID is : Baumhouse

His website address is: www.baumhouse.com

I always look at what he has for sale on Ebay first because the prices are better, but there is more selection in his online store.
Reply:you could rub icy hot on it or get icy hot stick things where they stick you anywhere you want.
